Full disclosure I'm partial to Knob Creek for my Rye.
If you're familiar with Jim Beam bourbon, you'll note the trademark Beam flavour profile immediately. Not a bad thing, but for as many Beam and Ginger Ale highballs I've enjoyed in life, confused my pallet with the sharp contrast of the Rye.
However, what really got me was the nearly candy level of sweetness -- no, there is nothing added to this to sweeten it, it's just the distilling process and grains combined.
So, heads-up, I bought this for Old-fashioneds as they were out of my Knob Creek Rye -- easy with the simple syrup and maybe add an extra half splash of water to even out that sweet.
Makes a perfectly cocktail for my purposes, and, it'll work until the Knob Creek is back.
