Quarisa Mrs Q Shiraz

This Shiraz is from McLaren Vale although you wouldn't know it. It's blanketed in toasty, cherry-cola-like oak. If you can fight your way past that, you'll find characters of red cherry, raspberry and tree sap. In the mouth, the oak is particularly overwhelming, which is a shame since there seems to be a lovely purity of fruit underneath.
