Estrella Damm Mediterranean Lager Beer

Euro Pale Lager: Similar to the Munich Helles story, many European countries reacted to the popularity of early pale lagers by brewing their own. Hop flavor is significant and of noble varieties, bitterness is moderate, and both are backed by a solid malt body and sweetish notes from an all-malt base.

Estrella Damm is made using that original recipe of 1876 resulting from the combination of barley malt, rice, and hops; 100% natural ingredients. A beer adapted to the Mediterranean climate. Lighter than the Central European, designed for colder climates, we know it as Mediterranean lager beer.

The quality of these ingredients is our priority and that is why we work directly with local Mediterranean farmers. Once selected, the barley arrives at the malting plant where it first germinates, and then dries and toasts. Unlike many breweries, we have own malting, which allows us to control the whole process firsthand. 

Yeast is another ingredient that makes us unique, and many generations ago we used the same strain. If it were lost or damaged, the taste of Estrella would change, and that is why we have three reserves of this yeast stored under maximum security in Barcelona, ??Valencia, and London.

Good things require patience, in the fermentation and maturation of beer. We have it one week in the fermentation tanks and two in the storage tanks. This way we guarantee a perfect result.
